University of Houston College of Optometry

August 26, 2026 by Houston Delta Gamma Foundation

With the generous support of the Houston Delta Gamma Foundation, our program provided vision-restoring cataract surgery to patients who otherwise lacked the financial means to access care.  These individuals often delayed treatment due to cost carriers, resulting in a progressive vision loss that impacted their independence, safety, and overall well-being.  This grant enabled timely surgical intervention, allowing patients to regain functional vision and return to essential activities of daily living.

— Dr. Andrew M. Archila. O.D., MBA, FAAO, Diplomate Public Health

Associate Dean for Clinical Operations/Clinical Professor
